United States: Near the Mexican fishing port of Ensenada, the remains of three people, identified as missing surfers from the United States and Australia, were found. Reports suggest they were killed in an apparent carjacking, as stated on Sunday.
Family Identification
Identification of the individuals has been conducted by family members at the request of Baja California state prosecutors, the state attorney general’s office said on Sunday.
According to officials, the bodies were recovered from a remote well approximately 50 feet deep. The attorney general’s office confirmed that the recovered bodies have been identified as Jake and Callum Robinson from Australia and Jack Carter Rhoad from the US.

Cause of Death Revealed
Authorities believe two of the three were living in San Diego. However, on Friday, the Ensenada medical examiner’s office confirmed that the three victims were killed by gunshot wounds to the head, as reported by NBC News.
At a news conference on Sunday, prosecutors said the motive was carjacking, while the possible premeditation suggests a special interest in the theft of the vehicle, creating a suspenseful scenario.
The three of them were encamped in a makeshift arrangement by the sea during a fishing trip and also on a surfing trip south of Ensenada.
They were waiting for the waves to crest when something unforeseen happened to them. This was where the Baja coast became deserted, where surfers like them could only salvage the day with the rare chance to attempt and ride a wave after a long wait, and the surfing season ended.

Further Official Statements
According to prosecutors, they discovered the site where the three were camping, which included tents, gun shells, bloody spots, and indications that bodies were dragged.
Among those being questioned are a male, a female, and another person, according to the authorities. Two of the three, a man and a woman, are being questioned on an alleged methamphetamine-related issue, and the other on a kidnapping allegation.
María Elena Andrade Ramírez, the main state prosecutor, confirmed that a cell phone retrieved from one of the three suspects may be evidence linking them to the killings.
Investigators say all three bodies were found in the well, and the fourth one could be part of a different case altogether.
On the same day, Andrade Ramírez met with the parents of the three deceased men, and her spokesperson released an announcement confirming their identities.
