Andy Beshear who is 46 was elected as Kentucky governor in 2019 and he won his re-re-election bid last November winning by 5 percent points in a deep red state by leaning into his support for reproductive rights.
Following the Biden’s withdrawal, Beshear released a statement on X saying in the part “While his decision today could not have been easy it is in the best interest of our country and our party as well and I want to thank him for his leadership and the kindness and for a successful presidency that got big and the important things done.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Beshear is among the governors who spoke with the Harris on Sunday and on the Monday, he endorsed Harris on the MSNBC saying and the Vice President is smart and strong which will make her a good president but she’s also kind and has empathy which can make her a great president.” He added. “The vice president is ready, she has my full endorsement and I’m going to do everything I can do to support her.”
