United States: In the lead-up to the November election, President Joe Biden’s campaign is focusing more of its messaging on gun safety, a topic it believes will be crucial to voter participation among young people, women, and Latino voters in swing areas.

Biden to Address Advocates at “Gun Sense University”

On Tuesday, Biden is listed to speak at the Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund’s” Gun Sense University,” an periodic gathering of lawyers, survivors, and levies who come to Capitol Hill in large figures to prompt lawgivers to support stricter gun control legislation.

The chairman is anticipated to make a clear distinction between his record on gun safety and that of former President Donald Trump, the presumed Democratic designee who just last month pledged to “ roll back every Biden attack on the Alternate Correction ” if he wins. The chairman pledged to pass an assault munitions ban ifre-elected.

The measure bettered background checks and increased backing for internal health programmes, but it didn’t negotiate the Egalitarians’ long- standing pretensions of banning assault munitions and taking background checks for all gun purchases. also, Biden closed the so- called” gun show loophole,” which exempted private deals from government background checks, before this time by using an administrative order.

Prior to the presidential election, two of the most politically contentious topics were gun violence and the place of firearms in society: According to a Pew Research Centre poll, 68% of Democrats and independents leaning Democratic and 27% of Republicans and independents leaning Republican believe that gun violence is a major issue.

Contrasting Records: Biden vs. Trump on Gun Safety

According to 76% of Biden’s supporters, owning a gun increases the risk of misuse and reduces safety because too many people have access to firearms, and 83% believe that having more guns in the country is bad for society.

Trump’s followers say the exact reverse in equal measure: 86% of Trump’s supporters believe that having a gun makes it easier for law-abiding people to defend themselves, and 40% believe that having more firearms in the country is beneficial for society as a whole.

As the campaign heats up, Biden intends to make gun safety, a cause he has always supported, a top priority.

Harris Leads Gun Violence Prevention Efforts

The vice president in charge of the White House Office on Gun Violence, Kamala Harris, has also given the matter a lot of attention. In honour of National Gun Violence Prevention Awareness Day, she oversaw a number of events last week, including a meeting with high school seniors who attended Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, the site of the shooting atrocity that tends to show the lives of 20 children and six adults.

The Biden campaign mocked Trump’s gun control positions in a 30-second digital commercial that was released last month to commemorate two years since the Uvalde school shooting. The movie begins with footage of Biden and the first lady visiting the school following the massacre, then cuts to an altar honouring the 19 children and two teachers slain in the mass shooting in 2022. The song “Ave Maria” is playing in the background.

The lettering on the screen says, “Joe Biden is fighting to ban assault weapons and expanded background checks.” “Donald Trump took no action to protect our safety.

“There are many things on a humane basis that you can do outside of that,” Trump added, saying that “you also have to give a vote” to people about abortion.

Shift in Position

Policy and Future Announcements

The idea of directing the FDA to revoke access to mifepristone is a rare core policy plan in the project 2025 also a 900-plus page document written by conservative groups and organized by the Heritage Foundation that lays out a governing plan for the next GOP presidential administration.

Recently at a press conference on Thursday Trump was also asked  how he planned all these thing to vote in Florida’s ballot initiative and this fall to expand abortion the access and the former president a Florida resident didn’t say how would vote but hereby also teased a future announcement on that and added that abortion isn’t is a big factor anymore.

Criticism from Opponents

However, Harris-Walz campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez also critized the Tumps’ comments in a particular statement this Thursday.

“Already, women across the country are suffering because of the nightmare Donald Trump unleashed by overturning Roe v. Wade,” she said.

“That reality — women forced to the brink of death before receiving the care they need, doctors facing the threat of jail time for doing their jobs, and survivors of rape and incest made to flee their states for basic health care.
